BUCS MENS TROPHY WINNERS 2008-2009!

Welcome to the homepage of the university's fencing club. We are looking forward to the coming of new members and the return of the old.

A note from the President

"Dundee University Fencing Club is a lively and competitive club to introduce students and staff to the sport of fencing in Dundee. Our coach Richard will guide you through the basics of fencing, and you will be parry-risposting your way on piste with the other fencers in a matter of weeks. The club has been home to fencers that come in at National and International level, but also been the starting point for fencers that have gone on to compete at national and international level! We have strong ties with both the Dundee City Club and ETV (in Hamburg, Germany), and we hold training events and socials with them throughout the year.

We have our own identity with all our kit showing our logo and we even have a flag to mark our presence at competitions!

The club is built on a keen team spirit, despite being seen as an individual sport, a match can be influenced as much off the piste than on it! We have fencers who regularly do the British circuit of opens, and as a club we also attend all student competitions and many of the Scottish ones too! A good example of this is the Men's team of 2008-09 winning the BUCS trophy after fencing all over the UK, from Aberdeen to Bangor and Cambridge!

Fundraising

The club needs your help in fundraising please suggest ideas and volunteer help. So far suggested are a box wars event, a raffle, and fundraising dinner. If you want to jump out a plane or something that would be great but I'm not doing it. - Rory
